Demand Supply Of LNG Management In Australia-Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Examine About The Demand And Supply Of LNG Management In Australia? Answer: Introducation Request and flexibly of an item can be recognized as two of the significant constituents influencing the costs of the equivalent. Unequivocally, the interest and gracefully side of wares has likewise relied upon various elements controlling the costs to change. In this specific examination, the effect of expanding worldwide interest for melted flammable gas (LNG) on the costs in Australia has been expounded giving generous proof (Rudolph, 2016). As indicated by the reports, by 2021-22, the whole estimation of the LNG sends out in Australia has been assessed to reach $42 billion from $17 billion of every 2015-16 (Drahos, 2017). The report distributed by the Australian Government in the article Resource and Energy Quarterly has affirmed that because of the expansion in worldwide interest and gracefully challenges in the long haul, the LNG costs in Australia have been guage to rise. In the then, the flood later on contract costs can be recognized as one of the main drivers of flooding the product value (Perry, 2016). On the opposite side, there are a few hazard factors related with gracefully side also (Bolle, 2011). Because of increment in the quantities of worldwide contenders and decrease in the interest in the Australian oil and gas part, the LNG extends in Australia are foreseen to decay. Regarding LNG request from the worldwide side, the universal gas utilization is relied upon to flood at a normal yearly pace of 1.7% in the following five years or somewhere in the vicinity (Drahos, 2017). Because of expanded interest from the rising economies in Asia and the European Union countries, the LNG send out foundation will get a lift in the Australia and US to meet the gracefully development. In the in the interim, LNG imports gauges till 2022 have been introduced as beneath: Figure: LNG Imports Forecasts Source: (Drahos, 2017) As depicted in the figure, barring Japan, the estimate has affirmed that the interest of LNG is relied upon to increment from South Korea, China, developing Asian economies, Europe, and the remainder of the world economies. As far as numbers, by 2022, the utilization figure of LNG is relied upon to arrive at 330 billion cubic meters, up by 65%. Along these lines, import of LNG in China will ascend to 48 million tons by 2020, up by 19% (Drahos, 2017). Obviously, China will be the biggest LNG bringing in countries on the planet contributing towards the interest development of the asset in a courageous manner. Besides, import of LNG from developing Asian economies for example India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, and so forth has assessed to build that will obviously benefits the Australian fares. Because of the outcomes, the costs of LNG in Australia will keep up an upward bend later on too. Regardless of Australia being the second biggest exporter of LNG over the globe, it is relied upon to confront a deficiency of gracefully of petroleum gas in the forthcoming years. As indicated by Bruce Robertson (a vitality expert), the Australian Government has permitted the gas extricating organizations to sell its valuable vitality assets in the abroad market without thinking about the future needs of the Australian individuals (Smead, 2015). Subsequently, the significant outcome that can be normal in the up and coming years is a lack of LNG before the finish of 2020. Besides, it is normal that the cost of LNG will increment at an unforeseen rate because of its developing interest in the universal just as local market and deficiency of gracefully because of eradication of the regular assets. So as to clarify the difficulties for Australia economy with respect to the cost of LNG, the interest and gracefully bend hypothesis has been applied in this specific situation. It tends to be seen that the expansion cognizance among the Australian shoppers and improvement of innovation will prompt a base degree of ascend in the amount requested for gaseous petrol later on (Giri and Roy, 2011). Be that as it may, the more significant level of fare in the current years will prompt undersupply of LNG by a gigantic sum. Thus, the cost of LNG is required to increment by a colossal sum later on. An interest and flexibly bend graph has been introduced underneath for better understanding: Figure: Demand and Supply of LNG Source: (Gilman, 2016) Based on the above figure, it tends to be seen that the tremendous fall in gracefully of LNG in the neighborhood market will prompt a leftward move in the Supply Curve from S to S1. In a similar way, the expansion in the amount requested by a littler sum in the residential market will prompt a rightward move in the Demand Curve from D to D1. Thus, the market balance will move from E to E1 prompting an expansion in the cost from P to P1. Based on the above investigation, it tends to be seen that a climb in the cost of LNG will be clear in the Australian economy, which will prompt a monetary unevenness in the country. Chang (2017) recommend that the Australian government must put a keep an eye on the fare amount of gaseous petrol so as to keep up advertise harmony later on. For instance, the administration can force a higher expense rate for fare of LNG and the income earned from the fare of the item can be utilized as appropriations to keep up a harmony cost in the Australian market (Hattwick, Brown and Sailors, 2014). The conversation in the investigation has distinguished that the worldwide interest of LNG has assessed to be expanded at an impressive rate in the following five years. Because of consistent flood popular of LNG, the Australia LNG fares will be relied upon to reach at a record high sooner rather than later. Then again, a portion of the gracefully side difficulties can assume a significant job fuelling the future agreement costs of LNG. Driven by the worldwide interest development and inside gracefully challenges, the costs of LNG in Australia has recouped from US$ 7.2 a gigajoule in 2017 from a record low of US$ 5.5 a gigajoule in 2016. The flood of the costs in LNG is relied upon to keep up the grade bolstered by request development in the worldwide market. Subsequently, it is significant for the Australian Government to put a mind the creation and fare of LNG so as to keep up advertise balance in the business References Bolle, F. (2011). So You Got Hit With an Overdraft Fee ... Now What

So You Got Hit With an Overdraft Fee ... Now What So You Got Hit With an Overdraft Fee Now What? So You Got Hit With an Overdraft Fee Now What?Overdraft protection is like a net; its there to catch you when you fall. But once youve been hit with an overdraft fee, heres what you can do to pick yourself up again. When you’re living paycheck to paycheck, keeping track of your checking account balance can be tricky, especially during those last couple days before payday. If you’re not careful, you could end up overdrawing your account and getting hit with an overdraft fee. While this might spare you the embarrassment of having your debit card declined, having to deal with that extra charge comes with real financial consequences. In fact, overdrawing your account too often and racking up all those  fees isnt all that dissimilar from relying on high-interest payday loans and cash advances to make ends meet.Ending up with a negative balance in your checking account is a situation you definitely want to avoidâ€"and we’ll touch on how you can do so later on in the piece. If you’ve already been hit with an overdraft fee, you’ll want to take the proper steps to make sure you get your finances back on track. How do overdraft fees work?Overdraft protection is a service offered by most financial institutions on their checking accounts. If you don’t have sufficient funds in your account to cover a transaction, the bank or credit union will cover it on your behalf, but they will charge a fee in order to so do. If that transaction were to result in a bounced check, overdraft protection would help you avoid hefty Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee and a black mark on your banking history.Oftentimes, the financial institution will debit the fee from the checking account at the time of occurrence,” said Adam Marlowe, principal experience officer for  Georgia’s Own Credit Union (@georgiasown). “In our case, we ask that you pay the fee and bring the balance current (to a zero balance at minimum) within 15 days. We do extend that time to 30 or 45 days depending on i ndividual member circumstances.”While the average overdraft fee is $30, the amount you’ll be charged will vary from institution to institution. Overdraft fees have been on the rise over the past decade, with Americans racking up over $34 billion in overdraft fees in 2017, the most they had paid since 2009.There are a couple of different types of overdraft protection available. The first is an overdraft line of credit, which will simply cover the cost of your overdraw and charge the fee to your account. The other common form of overdraft protection will link your account to a related savings account or credit card. Funds will be transferred from that second account to cover your overdraw and a transfer fee will be charged.Check for errors and ask for help. The first thing you should do when you get with an overdraft is to check whether or not that fee was correctly charged. If it was made in error, then you should immediately contest it.If youve been hit with an overdraft fee, the first step is figuring out what went wrong,” said Megan Hanna, a senior business analyst at  FitSmallBusiness.com (@FitSmallBiz). “If the fee was the result of a bank error, then your first order of business is asking the bank to reverse the charge. Theres no reason for you to pay a fee for an error caused by the bank.”Even if the overdraft fee was charged correctly, you should still contact your financial institution to see if the charge can be waived. According to Marlowe, Georgia’s Own encourages its members to contact them if they have fallen on hard times and need a little help.“Often times financial institutions will refund the fees as long as it is not a normal occurrence. We all make mistakes,” said Marlowe. If this is the first time you’ve overdrawn your accountâ€"or it’s been a long time since you’ve done soâ€"the odds are better that they’ll make an exception.“Sometimes, banks will be willing to waive the fee if its your first overdraft, you keep a lot on deposit with the bank, and you take measures to prevent it from happening again in the future,” said Hanna.“However,” she added, if you had it within your power to prevent the overdraft, then in most cases, youll need to pay the fee. While theres no harm in asking, you need to be prepared to have your request denied. Here’s how to prevent overdraft fees in the future.Since many banking institutions  prioritize processing large transactions before smaller ones, you could find yourself incurring multiple overdraft fees that add up to way more than the amount you overdrew. Imagine having to pay $150 because you had five different purchases that added up to a total of $15. Thats an APR of 1,000 percentâ€"higher than all but the priciest bad credit loans. And while overdraft protection can help you avoid an NSF fee, overdrafts are oftentimes  also  recorded on your Chexsystems report. Too many overdrafts will cause serious damage to your  Chexsystems Consumer Score,  which i s like a credit score for your banking history. If your score drops low enough, you could be  unable to open a checking account for up to five years. As such, steering clear of overdraft fees starts with keeping a close eye on your money.“The easiest way to avoid a fee is to maintain a checking account register,” said Marlowe. “Each time you authorize an item or debit something from the account, record it in the ledger and maintain a running balance. This allows the member to always have an account of how much money is in their account, thereby avoiding authorizing a transaction that could cause an overdraft.”You can also set up alerts on your checking account in order to receive texts or emails when your account balance is getting low. This will let you curtail your own spending and also pause or delay recurring bill payments that might tip you over the edge. And if those recurring bills are falling on an inconvenient date, then try changing it!“The best way prevent overdr afts is to keep track of what youre spending, and make sure youre aligning any automatic payments with when youll be depositing funds into your account,” said Hanna. “As an example, if you know your phone bill is always due on the 11th of the month but you dont get paid until the 15th, you can see if your provider will change the due date to the 15th or 16th of the month.”Hanna also recommended keeping a month cushion in your checking account in order to cover all your bills, even when they don’t perfectly align with your pay schedule.“Lastly, you should monitor your checking account regularly to quickly identify and stop fraud, she said. “In so doing, if you see someone has stolen your account number and is withdrawing funds from your bank account, you can quickly tell the bank what happened and get it fixed before its gone too far.Should you sign up for overdraft protection?“I would highly recommend signing up for overdraft protection,” said Marlowe. “In most cas es, the financial institution will pull money from an associated savings account to cover the difference and assess a small fee (in our case $6/transfer).”The type of overdraft protection you sign up for is key. The transfer fees for overdraft protection from a linked savings account are going to be much smaller than the overdraft fees from a straight line of credit. While building up savings can be difficult when you’re living on a tight budget, that extra financial cushion will pay off time and time again. If you find yourself overdrawing your account repeatedly, that’s the situation where overdraft protection is probably a bad idea. Even though it will be difficult, consider turning off the service until you can get your finances in order. Until then, you’ll just keep racking up fees and putting yourself further and further behind.Overdraft protection is like a net; its there to catch you when you fall. Your goal should be to stop falling in the first place. If you want to achieve the financial stability neccesary to put overdraft fees and costly no credit check loans behind you, its going to take some work. Climate Change And Global Warming - 955 Words

Joshua Morris Professor Sarah Stuart ENC1101c 11/26/2016 Climate Change and Global Warming Global warming is a phenomenon that has been happening for many years even before the industrial age. However humans have sped up this process by adding CO2 to the environment through things like factories and cars. There are many who believe that global warming is a hoax but it is in fact very real and affecting our planet. Global warming is defined as a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants. These pollutants first made their debut during the industrial revolution and have been polluting the Earth ever since. In other words, we have been sending pollutants into the air for just about 250 years. The reason that these pollutants make the Earth hotter is because of something called the greenhouse effect. Normally the radiation from the Sun would bounce off the Earth and head back into spac e, however, CO2 pollutants and other greenhouse gasses trap this heat and make the Earth hotter. These gasses can last in the air from decades to centuries, trapping heat in the Earth’s atmosphere over the years. According to climatologists the temperature of the Earth has risen between .4 and .8 degrees Celsius. Ethical Issues in Nursing - 1321 Words

Ethical Issues for Nurses Alexis Bushay HCA 322 Health Care Ethics amp; Medical Law Instructor: Jennine Kinsey August 18, 2012 Ethical Issues for Nurses Ethical issues have always affected the role of the professional nurse. Efforts to enact this standard may cause conflict in health care settings in which the traditional roles of the nurse are delineated within a bureaucratic structure. Nurses have more direct contact with patients than one can even imagine, which plays a huge role in protecting the patients’ rights, and creating ethical issues for the nurses caring for the various patients they are assigned to. In this paper I will discuss some of the ethical and legal issues that nurses are faced with each and every day.†¦show more content†¦Nurses are not to make medical diagnosis that is the job of a trained physician. A nurse can certainly assemble a nursing diagnosis, which is derived from the medical diagnosis and enables the nurse to develop the plan of care in order to care for the patient, their medical needs and make adjustments if necessary (Yakov, Shilo, amp; Shor, 2010). In a hospital setting, the LPN works under the RN and it is the duty of the RN to make sure that when she assigns patients, that the LPN has knowledgeable understanding of her expected duties to ensure the safety of the patient, which includes administering the proper medication as well as dosage. In the event that this is not done properly, this can be very detrimental to the patient, often causing death. For example, if an LPN accidentally administers the wrong medication to a patient, because he/she failed to check the patients armband for proper identification but reported it to her superior, the RN and in return the RN did not make a report but instead monitored the patient which took a turn for the worse and expired. This of course would prompt the family to take swift legal action. Have you gone through an experience where you lose your innocence. Gene subconsciously cripples his best friend Phineas, which in the end, leads to the death of his friend. Although both characters are at fault for the death of a friend, Gene’s case is far worse because his actions are the result of jealousy, frustration, and anger. First, in Lord of the Flies, Jack and his tribe had a feast, when suddenly a shadowy figure approaches them (Simon), and all of the children chase after the figure, including Ralph, and kill it, believing that it is the beast. Ralph later realizes what had happened the night before, as he says to Piggy â€Å"That was murder† (Golding 156).When Simon approached the feast, the children are caught up in the moment, which makes this bad timing on Simon’s part. Ralph is amongst the group, and like the others, is caught up in the moment. Furthermore, Ralph takes part in the murder of the innocent Simon, however his judgment was clouded under the circumstances, unlike Gene in A Separate Peace, Ralph kills out of fear, rather than out of jealousy. Piggy explains to Ralph the morning after Simon’s death th at â€Å"It was an accident†¦that’s what it was. An accident†¦Coming out of the dark- he hadn’t no business crawling like that out of the dark. He was batty. He asked for it†¦it was an accident† (Golding 157) Because of the chaos and confusion on the night of Simon’s death, and the fear of the beast rising, it is quite feasible for the children to believe Simon was the beast. However, when Gene jounces the branch on which Phineas is perched, this had been done in jealousy, and in anger.Because of the build up of Genes Jealousy towards Phineas, Gene subconsciously jounces the branch, which knocks down Phineas In contrast to Ralph, Gene is full of bad emotions towards Finney, and subconsciously enacts revenge on him at the perfect moment, maiming his leg forever. Once Gene has maimed Finney, he yellsâ€Å"†¦Now you know what it is! I did it because I felt like that! Now you know yourself! † said Gene (Knowles 70). James M. Mellard states â€Å"The cause of Finney’s fall is not ignorance, not a blindness that just suddenly appears; rather, it is a result of a malice that has been growing in Gene ll along-a rivalry , a jealousy, a spite spite that builds in Gene before the fateful jump† (Mellard 75). After Gene sees the limp body of his best friend on the ground, he is unable to process what he has done. He cannot believe he has shaken the branch, this shows that he is unaware of his actions, proving his actions subconscious. However, Gene’s fall from innocence is caused by Finneys good-natured, fun-loving, innocent attitude, which causes Gene to jounce the branch on which Finney is standing.Finney explains his attitude toward Gene and his schoolwork by saying â€Å"I didn’t know you needed to study†¦I didn’t think you ever did. I thought it just came to you† (Knowles 58). Mellard also states â€Å"Knowles described Genes jouncing of the limb as a seizure, but which never the less came out of himself, and for which he was responsible† (Mellard 76)Preceding the fall of Phineas he had talked Gene into going to the beach with him, which caused Gene’s first failing grade in his high school career. Phineas’ fun loving, innocent attitude brews up some anger in Gene which leads to the fall, even though he could have denied the visit to the beach. Upon viewing the evidence so far it may seem as though Ralphs Actions are worse than Genes. When viewing the evidence with a closed mind, Ralph’s actions appear worse than Gene’s, because Ralph is directly involved in the murder of an innocent child and friend. However, upon further viewing of the text, one sees that Ralph’s actions where based on fear rather than jealousy, such as Gene’s.Piggy exclaims to Ralph after Simon’s murder, â€Å"It was dark. There was that-that bloody dance. There was lightning and thunder and rain. We was scared! † (Golding 156) Piggy tried to tell Ralph that they do not know what they are doing that night. Piggy goes on to tell Ralph that the sins that took place are justified because of their obvious fright. On the other hand, Gene enacts vengeance on Phineas with jealousy for the cause. When Gene explains to Finney what had happens, he acts a little crazy because he knows why he did it.Finney says â€Å"’†¦God you were crazy when you were here’ Gene replied ‘I guess I was. I guess I must have been’† (Knowles 83). Mellard explains â€Å"Gene survives by making his accommodation to the brutal truth, by bending with the truth rather than resisting and being broken by it† (Mellard 75). Gene realized his mistake and tried to apologize; however, he acts hysterically because of the guilt within his conscience. Gene is the one who suffers the greatest fall from innocence because he acts on jealousy and anger. Gene from A Separate Peace suffers the greatest fall from innocence.Even though Ralph from Lord of the Flies commits murder with all of the other children on the island, it is spontaneous, unlike Gene’s fall from innocence. When Gene and Phineas are in the tree preparing for the tree preparing for the double jump, Gene’s subconscious jounces the branch on which Phineas is standing, all because he is frustrated and angry with him. Even though Ralph kills an innocent friend, Gene’s fall from innocence is greater because he acts on anger, rather than a spontaneously made decision based on fear. The Glass Menagerie free essay sample

She often talked about her popularity in the past, and how â€Å"she was visited one Sunday in Blue Mountain by seventeen gentleman callers. † Figuratively, she trapped her two children, Tom and Laura in the mirror of her own judgement. Their father abandoned the family and was never heard from again. In this article, Levy points out how Amanda was constantly making comments about how her son, Tom would end up just like his father, she â€Å"insists that his desire to leave home is simply a manifestation of selfishness, and further proof that he will end up as faithless and irresponsible as his father. The irony of that remark is that she still had the photograph of their father hanging on the wall in the living room, and she still wore her wedding band dispite her obvious hatred toward her him. Amanda never thought that maybe she was the reason that Tom never wanted to be around. We will write a custom essay sample on The Glass Menagerie or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Tom even explains to his mother, â€Å"It seems unimportant to you, what I’m doing—what I want to do. † (3). He tried to explain to his mother that the things that were important to him would not matter to her.. Laura, Amandas daughter was very shy. She considered herself â€Å"crippled,† due to a slight inequality in the length of her legs. Her mother almost enabled her to feel crippled because she made her feel even more self-conscious about herself, and never spoke on positive notes. One day, Amanda instructed Laura to stand in front of a mirror after helping groom and dress her. â€Å"Now look at yourself, young lady. This is the prettiest you will ever be! I’ve got to fix myself now! † (1). This is an example of how she made her daughter feel insecure, while still proving that she is all about herself. Laura felt inferior to her mother, she even stated, â€Å" Im just not popular like you were in Blue Mountain. † Amanda tried to convince Tom to invite one of his fellow co-workers home to act as a gentleman caller for Laura. Tom does invite a man by the name of Jim to the house for dinner. Jim, knows nothing about being a gentleman caller, and Tom has no intent on him being that. Amanda and Laura however, think that Tom has set everything up. Laura remembered Jim from school. Eventually, despite how nervous Laura was, they engaged in conversation. Jim made Laura feel very good about herself. Jim tells Laura she is like blue roses because she is one of a kind. He giave her some confidence that she was not use to. They danced briefly, and bumped into her collection of glass animals. Her favorite glass animal broke, it was her unicorn. The horn broke off, but Laura is not sad. She tells Jim, â€Å" The horn was removed to make him feel less—freakish! † (4). Laura gives Jim the unicorn as a souvenir. She wanted Jim to know that he did something for her that meant a lot, he boosted her confidence. These gestures are very significant, it almost suggests that she released herself of any negative self-consciousness. Laura kept her collection of glass animals because they are fragile, almost as though that is how she wished people would treat her. Laura’s defect made her even more volunerable. Tom, on the other hand, was as volnurable to insecurity as Laura. Tom joined the Merchant Marines and left his family, like his father did. The ultimate cause of his restless movement is the fear of finding himself trapped on the wrong side of the mirror again, enclosed in an intimacy founded on love. † (3). Although Tom’s need for companionship was great, his need for lonliness was greater, for he learned to only depend on the sense of his own worth. He thought of Laura very often, but was never back in contact. I like the article I read. It really explored the significance of self-confidence, and how Amanda directly affected both of her children in a negative way. It proved that Laura’s glass collection was a symbol to show the fragility of human life. This article pulled many quotes from the play, which I found helpful because when I originally read the play skimmed over some important information, and this article made me more aware of the important and significant parts of the play, as well as the symbols. The only thing I do not completely agree with in this article is the emphasis that Jim was selfish himself. My interpretation of Jim is that although he did have a girlfriend, the things he said to Laura did make her feel stronger, and have more faith in herself.

The Catcher In The Rye Essays (999 words) - Literary Realism

The Catcher in the Rye In The Catcher in the Rye, Holden views the world as an evil and corrupt place where there is no peace. This perception of the world does not change significantly through the novel. However as the novel progresses, Holden gradually comes to the realization that he is powerless to change this. During the short period of Holden's life covered in this book, "Holden does succeed in making us perceive that the world is crazy".1 Shortly after Holden leaves Pencey Prep he checks in to the Edmont Hotel. This is where Holden's turmoil begins. Holden spends the following evening in this hotel which was "full of perverts and morons. (There were) screwballs all over the place."2 His situation only deteriorates from this point on as the more he looks around this world, the more depressing life seems. Around every corner Holden sees evil. He looks out on a world which appears completely immoral and unscrupulous. The three days we learn of from the novel place a distressed Holden in the vicinity of Manhattan. The city is decked with decorations and holiday splendor, yet, much to Holden's despair "seldom yields any occasions of peace, charity or even genuine merriment."3 Holden is surrounded by what he views as drunks, perverts, morons and screwballs. These convictions which Holden holds waver very momentarily during only one particular scene in the book. The scene is that with Mr. Antolini. After Mr. Antolini patted Holden on the head while he was sleeping, Holden jumped up and ran out thinking that Mr. Antolini was a pervert as well. This is the only time during the novel where Holden thinks twice about considering someone as a pervert. After reviewing Mr. Antolini, Holden finally concludes that maybe he wasn't making a "flitty" pass at him. Maybe he just like patting guys heads as they sleep. This is really the only time in the novel where Holden actually considers a positive side. This event does not constitute a significant change. As Holden himself says, "It's not too bad when the sun's out, but the sun only comes out when it feels like coming out."4 The sun of course is a reference to decency through the common association of light and goodness. His perception of the world remains the same. The one conviction that does change during the novel is Holden's belief that he can change the world. On his date with Sally, Holden reveals his feelings. "Did you ever get fed up?... I mean did you ever get scared that everything was going to go lousy unless you did something..."5 Holden goes through several plans. Holden at one point contemplates heading out west where he will pretend to be a deaf-mute and live a quiet life. At another point Holden proposes to Sally to escape this world with him. It is finally to his younger sister Phoebe that Holden reveals his ultimate plan. Although Holden describes the situation in a very picturesque and symbolic manner he essentially tells Phoebe that he wants to prevent children from growing up. He blames the world's corruption on adults and believes that when he stops the children from growing up he will preserve their innocence and save the world. It takes most of the book before Holden begins to realize that he is helpless to stop this corruption. Finally, he realizes that not only is there nothing that he can do, but there is nowhere he can go to hide from it. Holden takes awhile to comprehend these concepts. One good example is when Holden is delivering the note to his sister. He encounters a "fuck-you" written on the wall. Holden careful rubs this off with his hand so as to protect the innocent children from reading it. Later on he finds "fuck-you" scratched into the surface with a knife. He discovers that he can't efface this one. Even in the timeless peace of the Egyptian tomb room at the museum there is an un-erasable "fuck-you." This incident is the beginning of Holden's realization that his dreams are infeasible.6 Ironically enough, it is one of the "innocent" children that he is trying to protect who helps him come to terms with this realization. It is

How ICT Tools Can Enhance Human Resources Management Essays

How ICT Tools Can Enhance Human Resources Management Essays How ICT Tools Can Enhance Human Resources Management Essay How ICT Tools Can Enhance Human Resources Management Essay The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that Human Resource Management can be enhanced through Information Communication Technology. Research has shown that when companies adopt CT, it provided many positive benefits to the organization, such as improvement in communication, sharing of information, linking different arms of an organization and reduces the burden place on the Human Resources Department Businesses today are face with significant challenges, and as society develop, technology will develop. We live in an information age, no longer personnel data are store manually, but are inventories in software system and cloud technology. Therefore, technology provides the opportunity for enormous potential for business to grow and manage human resources effectively and efficiency thought Information Communication Technology (Sits). Sits have enhanced the way how business are run and thus have provided significant returns, through managing of human resources in organization. However develop countries have manage to integrate Sits in all area of business, while develop countries are still lagging behind. In Guyana, which is a developing country, the Ministry of Natural Resources Environment, has not attain that level of integration. Though, every employee has a desktop computer to send correspondences to peer and management, the Ministry is yet to catch up with the Information Communication Technology (Sits) tools that is used in develop country to enhance it human resource. The paper offers an opinion to the following questions: How can a human resources information system (HAIR) support HER managers in the Ministry of Natural Resources the Environment and the agencies under it purview. Information communication technology (SITS) Information and Communication technology generally refers to permanent the networks, which link them, (Magnusson and Martini 2008). Literature has traditionally suggested different perspectives or aspects of Sits that must be considered in their study (Brady et al. , 2002). From an economic and management view- point, Sits have been regarded as: (1) a social construction; (2) an information provider; (3) an infrastructure hardware and software; and (4) a business process and system Today, Sits must be conceived broadly to encompass the information that businesses create and use, as well as the wide spectrum of increasingly convergent and linked technologies that process that information. Therefore, Sits an be viewed as a collective term for a wide range of software, hardware, al. , 2002). Information Communication and Technology has changed the way how business conduct, no longer do companies have to allocate a lot of resources being human resources, accounting and payroll, cause all are working in harmony and integrated. It has resulted has an effective tool that can be incorporated in organizations in ensuring rationalization and transformation of human resource development. In this case, CIT in human resource department ensures that the resources of the organizations are readily accessible by the managers and employees f the organization. Government entities are an important and strategic environment, which are usually plagued with traditional management style, rigid Human Resource policies and bureaucratic organizational models, which are usually hesitant to fully integrate CIT in its day-to-day affairs. Therefore it is imperative to understand how the Human Resource systems can be enhanced through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (Sits). 1. HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT According to Armstrong (2009), Human resources management was recently defined s a strategic, integrated and coherent approach to the employment, development and well-being of the people working in organizations T covers activities such as strategic human resources management, human capital management, corporate social responsibility, organization development, human resource planning, recruitment and selection, performance management. Modern businesses have incorporated Information and communication technologies (ACT) in their operations, an incentive which is performed to see the business improve on such aspects including performance, efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, CIT is not only incorporated in business organizations but also in public organizations as well as non-governmental organizations. The Ministry of Natural Resources Environment for instance comprises of several agencies, which need to be connected in order for efficiency to take place, lack of integrated information technology system will result in the HER department being burden with software solution, which enables HER activities to be processed electronically. Initially, an organization needs to determine the cost benefit analysis of the CIT project before implementing such software. Cost Benefit Analysis (CAB) entails a systematic approach that organizations incorporate to calculate and compare the benefits as well as the costs of a certain project. Cost benefit analysis is generally carried out for two major reasons, which include ensuring that the project to be implemented is feasible and the other reason is for comparing projects. Implementation of CIT in organizations has not only covered a particular department but it has been accomplished in all departments including the human resource, accounting and sales departments. This aims in helping the departments to accomplish the operations involved in these departments in a more effective and efficient manner since CIT incorporates automation, which proves cost and time effective as compared to manual systems. Human Resource Management (HARM) entails a department that has been under focus in terms of improving the operations or activities involved in the department through incorporating CT. Therefore, the paper addresses on how CIT has been incorporated in human resource department to improve efficiency and effectiveness especially in the MONROE, which is a new government ministry. 2. Departments of the MERE (Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment) The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment (MONROE) was established on the 17th of December, 2011. This represented a significant change in Iguanas natural resource management sector. Many of the challenges facing natural resources and environmental management today stem from weak linkages between key sector agencies and a somewhat fragmented governance approach. It was therefore necessary that the Government, for a Ministrys, who primary focus would be harmonize policy and management in the Forestry, Mining and other natural sources-based sectors. . 0 Organizational Structure The Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment currently has a Staff complement of 28 and has several agencies that fall under the purview of the Ministry of Natural Resources Environment are listed below: 1. Guyana Forest Commission 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Guyana Geology and Mines Commission Environmental Protection Age ncy Guyana Lands and Surveys Commission Environmental Protected Agency Guyana Wildlife Division National Parks Commission Protected Areas Commission 2. CIT Facilitates effective decision making and solving problems CIT in workplace imbibes various technologies including microelectronics, computer systems, and telecommunications, thus affecting not only the information gathering or transfer but also affecting the decision making process in the organization (Scott Davis, 2007). Information Communication Technology in businesses supports problem and opportunity identification in a more swift and accurate manner thus enhancing or organization. 2. CIT incorporates automation CIT in the 21st century has changed the operations in businesses and offices including the introduction of paperless offices, time attendance, databanks, and automating work practices. Balboa Truman (2003) in addition support the fact that CIT has also introduced tell-working, transaction processing, reporting and tracking applications and in human resource departments, CIT has also introduced modernized operations such as e-recruitment, staffing through the internet as well as employee development through interconnected networks and internet. An organization makes a decision on incorporating information technology in its operations following the need for change, or following other successful organizations that have followed the same trend in the market. Initially, incorporating information communication technology in human resource was initiated by the developed countries but nowadays; this remains a goal for every business in the entire world regardless of whether the country is developed or developing (Peasant et al. 2005). The MONROE for instance is a new ministry, which is aiming in establishing and maintaining effectiveness and efficiency in its operations as well as ensuring that they serve their clients to the best satisfaction level. Therefore, it is obvious that the organization needs to consider incorporating CT, which will play the role of interconnecting the individuals in the organization as well as facilitating speed of operations through automation. E-HARM is even common in organizations nowadays whereby human resource personnel are connected through a network where they share activities involving human resource (Collins Smith, 2006). 2. 3 CIT improves efficiency and effectiveness If the MONROE is to consider integrating CIT in the human resource department, this will help in increasing efficiency since activities involving management can now be carried out online. In this case, employees are able to hand over their work online thou physically submitting which would result in increased productivity of both employees and management. In terms of efficiency, CIT incorporates a combination of computerizing and micro-electrics thus introducing automation, which is more efficient as compared to the manual methods. CIT has revolutionized all the professionals worldwide and that the human resource sector has not been left behind and now managers can now carry on with their duties through the network (Papa and Meme 2012). One of the underlying principles of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment is free sharing of information and collaboration between itself and the Agencies, which is displayed in Figure 2. In the human resource department for instance, the application of information communication technology can changed the manner in which people interact, the organization culture, how operations in the department are executed as well as management in the human resource. Incorporating CIT in human resource can lead to increased competitiveness in the department whereby the HER professionals do not have to meet face-to -face to discuss relevant issues but can communicate from any location due to interlinked immunization networks facilitated by incorporating CIT in the organization (Doran, Communication being an important aspect in any organization, with the integration of CIT in human resource department, communication can be taken to another level whereby the social media, which is supported by CT, can now become a central concentration and a major tool in facilitating consistent communication amongst the agencies stakeholders not forgetting that it can also be used as a marketing tool (Wall, 2010). Delays which were experienced in communication can now can cleared hen CIT has been incorporated in the organization since employees in the different agencies can now communicate via video calls through the internet facilitated by such applications as Kee p, Faceable calls and Gamma hangouts. Propose diagram in Figure 1: indicate how Coordination among Agencies and the Ministry is possible with adoption of CIT in the Ministry. Fig 2. This label should be below the figure, the arrows showing the connection with the ministry is missing CIT can incorporate communication networks, which link various sectors of the human resource department. Nowadays, all the apartments in the human resource are now interconnected by CIT and communications as well as monitoring of organization activities are some of the aspects, which have been well addressed whereby managers and employees can now execute their roles without physically moving from their location. For instance, the employee recruitment and training department can communicate effectively with the employee remuneration department. As earlier addressed, certain activities such as employee recruitment and interviews, which were conducted manually, are now being conducted through the Internet as facilitated by CT. E-recruitment is modern and being practiced by the organizations, which has fully incorporated CIT in their functions (Crooning et al. , 2006). The human resource can now share information effectively following the role that CIT has played in clearing the delays, which were experienced in transferring information. For instance, considering a situation whereby an organization has a human resource department which comprises of different sections or units, therefore CIT can be applied in this case to ensure that all the units are liked to one another using networking and that each is able to informally and equally share the resources available in the organization. Recruitment and Selection (R) are major activities of the human resource that need Therefore, the sectors of the human resource need to share information and data in order to work closely. Collins Smith, 2006) explains that human resource is a department that influences mechanisms, which include development as well as exploitation of intellectual capital. 3. How CIT can help in employee empowerment in MERE Employee empowerment refers to the various ways that an organ ization uses in order to encourage the employee to become more involved in the decision making recess. The employee empowerment helps in ensuring that the employees are provided with the opportunity to show that their ideas can be converted to into practice and actions. The presence of self-directed team in the ministry is a clear indication that the ministry is committed toward facilitating the employee empowerment. Sharing of the information in the ministry has also helped to ensure that the entire workforce in the ministry is committed toward ensuring that they implement its goals and objectives. With the application of CIT the ministry play a critical role in promoting the employee empowerment. First, application of the CIT elapse in improving the employee trust toward the leadership in the ministry. In this case the presence of a clear and open communication platform provided by the CIT helps to ensure that the employee builds trust. Most importantly use of CIT in an organization help to ensure that the feel valued by the management and hence become empowered to continue working for the government. Use of CIT in the ministry can helped to facilitate building of the relationship between the management and other staff members. This is mainly because it helps to provide an avenue for open communication hence making it safe for the employee o express ideas regarding certain issues. This therefore implies that it can help to ensure that the employee feel empowered to come up with different innovate ideas. In relation to this application of CIT helps to prevent employee from feeling isolated and hence ensuring that the entire members of the staff work as team toward ensuring that they achieve the set objectives. In addition the application of the CIT in an organization helps in promoting collaboration, which helps to make the overall teamwork more productive since it help to support the streamlining of the entire process. According Salary (2007) information sharing is one of the essential parts of high performing organizations. This is because the process of communications is one of the means that help the employee of organization share knowledge in an organization. In addition the use of CIT in an organization promotes motivation by ensuring that the employee are informed about their task and the manner in which it needs to be done in order to improve the performance of an organization. Application of CIT can also help to alter the attitude of the employee and promote positive attitude in the workplace. This can in turn help to ensure that the employees re informed on the various policies that the ministry needs to implement. Information communication technology has also been known to play a role in support knowledge management in organization. With the use of CIT the ministry of natural resource and environment has also been able to organism the performance workshop review that have helped to equip important to note that the use of CIT in the ministry has also helped to empower the various stakeholders in the ministry. For instance the use of CIT in the ministry has helped to ensure that the ministry is able to provide the Nation Task Force with information regarding the human trafficking. 4. Recommendation to the MERE MERE in this case is a newly developed ministry that encompasses different departments. It functions are similar as those facilitated by the human resource. The ministry therefore requires incorporating information communication technology in order to ensure that all the departments, which concern the ministry, are connected and work coordinative. The management of MERE need to understand that operations would be more effective once CIT has been incorporated in the organization to facilitate improved communication as well as ensure that apartments of the ministry can access data and information without delays. Through incorporating CIT in the ministry, the organization will not only have facilitated and enhanced innovation but will have also ensured that the quality of employee working life is also enhanced (Coors et al. , 2003). As None et al. (2006) argues, the organization culture is also perceived by such aspects which include the workplace setting, motivation, performance, individual satisfaction as well as personal development whereby CIT has guaranteed to ensure that some of these aspects are fully achieved in the organization. CI T in the MERE will ensure an organization model, which facilitates openness and innovation achieved through vital elements, which include collaboration, communication as well as empowerment (Coors et al. , 2008). Administrative and management roles are well fulfilled through incorporating CIT in the human resource department. Technology in business is considered as the aspect or agent of initiating change towards improving the performance of the business or organization. In this case, if MERE incorporates CIT in its functions, then this will ensure that the ministry will reach for the anticipated change. In addition, as the human resource is initially the department which is concerned with proposing and implementing strategic changes in the organization, through incorporating CT, MERE will have the privilege of having the appropriate fundamentals to support valid strategic options. Therefore, through CT, MERE will have all its functions and operations connected to the organization goals and individual perceptions through improved communication. 5. Conclusion In general, human resource is the vital department in the organization which implements and fosters great change towards achieving the set goals. This is because the department controls the employees who are the powerhouse and initiates the right input to facilitate for quality products and services. Therefore, incorporating CIT in the organization ensures that all the departments that involve human resource are connected appropriately through communication and resources are readily accessible without any delays. Through incorporating CIT in MERE ministry for instance will ensure that the human resource management can carry out its administrative and managerial duties in the required manner, not forgetting that t is through CIT that effectiveness and efficiency will be achieved in the human resource department. CIT in MERE will ensure that the different departments in this organization are appropriately linked thus ensuring that the employees can access introduction of CIT to MERE will ease the problems in communication and feedback will be facilitated in advance thus aiding in an effective process of decision-making and problem solving.

Rubber Tire ( car ) Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Rubber Tire ( car ) - Research Paper Example The materials can be stretched severally to almost double its original size, and upon being released, it will return almost to its original length. Rubber can be produced from two basic raw materials, natural rubber or synthetic rubber. With the objective for improvement, in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements, how a car tire chemical composition is reported through the IMDS system. The introduction of IMDS brought about introduction of pseudo-substance basically for tire. Guidance document clarifies how the pseudo- substance should be used in the IMDS system in order to describe the chemical composition of tire. Production of car rubber is classified into two basics steps, production of rubber itself and processing into finished goods. In the first step of rubber production, it can be produced naturally by use of an agricultural crop or synthetic rubber made from petroleum products. Natural rubber is acquired from the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) as latex. This is a runny, milky white liquid which is tapped from the bark of rubber tree. Latex is a colloidal dispersion of solid particles of the polymer polyisoprene in water. The molecules of this compound are loosely joined making long, tangled chains. These molecules of chain when pulled apart untangles easily but springs but together once released and this brings about the characteristic of rubber being elastic. Many tanks are used to collect latex, blending the yield of many trees. (Wiley) General Natural car rubber currently accounts for about 30% to 40% of the total elastomeric part in a car tire, but in the case for a truck is 60% to 80%. The procedure of recovering this natural rubber from latex involves a process called coagulation. This process is carried out by adding acid such as formic acid (HCOOH). Coagulation takes about 12 hours. The coagulum, which is now soft solid slabs, is then squeezed through a series of rolls which removes most of the

Investigating the relationship between personality and Leadership Essay - 1

Investigating the relationship between personality and Leadership - Essay Example For example, Theory X and Y of management may be used within the same company in different departments depending on the nature of the work involved. Theory X of management assumes that most people have personalities that dislike work and must be controlled by strong means if they are to remain productive. Further, people need direction as well as control and not independence while they work (NetMBA, 2005). Theory Y is the complete opposite of this since it suggests that people are naturally inclined towards work as they are towards play and rest. Additionally, people find satisfaction in work and will use imagination, creativity and their personal skills to solve work related problems if they are allowed to work as they please (NetMBA, 2005). A manager who has a personality which is a good fit for managing with Theory X would find it difficult to create productivity in a department which should be governed with Theory Y. In such situations, personality itself can be defined as the collective emotional, thinking, and action patterns which are exhibited by an individual which are more or less consistent over a period of time (Miner & Dachler, 1973). Psychologists and those who study human personality have defined types of personalities and presented theories which help in placing individuals on certain scales of personality (Joy, 2004). The idea of personality as a set of individual levels of certain traits is fully supported by Cattell (Statt, 2004). It is also suggested that there are quite a few elements which affect human personality and the interaction of these traits as well as the reactions they produce to various stimuli result in a fully formed personality (Plucker, 2007). The work done by Cattell is important for the study of personality and productivity since it lets us gauge an individual’s personality and then connect it to their performance at a given position in the company. At the same time, we have

The Imagination In Frankenstein English Literature Essay

The Imagination In Frankenstein English Literature Essay The importance of imagination in the romanticism period was all about establishing who you were as a writer. The imagination in Frankenstein is that Dr. Frankenstein created an eight foot tall monster out of miscellaneous body parts, turning mans greatest fear of death and turning it into life, trying to make a perfect man and the advancement of the human kind. As the quote The labours of men of genius, however erroneously directed, scarcely ever fail in ultimately turning to the solid advantage of mankind. (Shelley 33-34) from Frankenstein is talking about the increasing role of science during the romanticism period. During the romanticism period the role of science and technology was increasing and very important to that time period because they were coming out of the neoclassical period which was all about the ending of the Renaissance time when it was all about art, self-awareness, religion, humanism, and art. The celebration of the individual is about inspiring the achievements of the misunderstood, heroic individual outcast. The celebration of the individual in Frankenstein is about the monster that Victor Frankenstein created. No one wanted to be friends or even be around the monster, so therefore the monster became angry, bitter and lonely. The quote, All men hate the wretched; how then, must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things! Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me, thy creature, to whom thou art bound by ties only dissoluble by the annihilation of one of us. (Shelley 81), from the monster, he is telling his creator Victor Frankenstein how hated he is by everyone and how alone he is. After the monster talks to his creator about how miserable and lonely he is, he tries to reason with Victor Frankenstein by telling Victor that he would stop his killing streak of revenge and exchange peace for a companion of like origin. The monster said to his creator, If you will c omply with my conditions, I will leave them and you at peace; but if you refuse, I will glut the maw of death, until it be satiated with the blood of your remaining friends. (Shelley 81), after the monster said this to Victor had refused the monster of any deal that the monster wanted to make, and so therefore the monster did what he said he would do and started to go after all of Victors friends and family. The romantics, which were the authors, stressed the awe of nature in art and in language and the practice of nobility through a connection with nature. The awe of nature in Frankenstein is best explained by this quote, It was the secrets of heaven and earth that I desired to learn; and whether it was the outward substance of things or the inner spirit of nature and the mysterious soul of man that occupied me, still my inquiries were directed to the metaphysical, or in it highest sense, the physical secrets of the world. (Shelley 23), which is connecting nature through the language of that time period. The language of that time period is greatly influenced by the writers imagination, emotion, and experience. Mary Shelleys writing style was greatly influenced by her imagination and emotion more than anything else. Mary Shelleys writing style was also gothic in the sense that it when she was writing the novel Frankenstein she had put a supernatural event, which was Victor Frankenstein c reating the eight foot tall monster. The writing style of William Wordsworth is different than Mary Shelleys because his is more influenced by emotion and feelings, his poem It is a beauteous Evening (Wordsworth 281), calm and free has strong emotion of dying and death, it is an emotional piece because it is talking about the death of his daughter. The writing style of Samuel Taylor Coleridge is based on the emotion of pain and disease. In his poem Love the quote And that she nursed him in a cave; And how his madness went away, When on the yellow forest-leaves A dying man he lay;- (Coleridge 110-113) has the emotion of love and of death at the same time which is different than that of Mary Shelleys Frankenstein because the emotion of love is not used as much as the emotion of death or the gothic sense that she uses of a monster with inhuman strength. Jean-Jacques Rousseau was one of the most significant thinkers of the state of nature, like most writers during that time, they were writing the poem, short stories, novels, and essays about or relating closely to nature. Jean-Jacques writings were about nature, because he believed that humans were born naturally good, curious, and content with satisfying are basic needs; but it is or society that corrupts us to desire status, idleness, and luxuries. (Jeffrey D. Wilhelm 676) Mary Shelleys writings were about the emotion of sorrow, death, and having no to love you back. Mary Shelleys writings are different than Jean-Jacques, because Jeans writings are a little happier toned and incorporate more nature than supernatural beings, in I his writing the Confessions. I am resolved on an undertaking that has no model and will have no imitator. I want to show my fellow-men a man in all truth of nature; and this man is to be myself. (Rousseau 5) in the first two lines of the novel he is saying that I will not have a follower and I will illustrate the truth about nature for all men. As in Mary Shelleys writings are more gothic and emotionally filled with sorrow. In a fit of enthusiastic madness I created a rational creature and was bound towards him to assure, as far as was in my power, his happiness and well-being . . . I refused, and I did right in refusing, to create a companion for the first creature. He showed unparalleled malignity and selfishness in evil; he destroyed my friends . . . Miserable himself that he may render no other wretched, he ought to die. The task of his destruction was mine, but I have failed. (Shelley 193) is a great quote to explain the interest in the common man and childhood. The quote shows the natural goodness in Victor from Frankenstein, by refusing to create a companion for the creature that has killed all his friends and family. Victor did the right thing by not giving the monster what he wanted; but instead letting the monster kill the ones closet to him while he was trying to kill the monster. The novel Frankenstein is both a romantic and gothic horror novel; because the novel also is supernatural but it is also connected to nature. The Byronic hero is monster; because the monster is arrogant, emotionally conflicted, has a troubled past, self-destructive, and treated as an outcast. The monster is the Byronic hero because he is an idealized yet imperfect character; he had his flaws because he was considered an outcast among everyone else, because he was hideous and no one would show him love or happiness, so he became bitter and angry at everyone that was happy and loved. The monster killed every one of his creators friends and family, then went and killed himself because his creator had died.

Freudian Theory and Consciousness: A Conceptual Analysis Essay

The portrayal of duality and the disturbing violence of the alters, in both works, can be approached with the psychoanalytic concept, and the structural theory of the mind promulgated by Freud. This is because both characters manifest the different sides of the structural theory of the mind. Based on Freud’s theory there are three subtypes of the self that go hand in hand to build our personality. â€Å"The  id  is the primitive, instinctive component of personality that operates according to the pleasure principle.† The superego is the self that operates according to moral principles. Ego, a required moderator, negotiates with the id and superego in order to satisfy the desires of both in a manner that is socially acceptable. If these three aspects of an individual from the whole self, the result is DID. This takes place in both storylines, as Tyler and Hyde embody the â€Å"aggressive tendencies† of the id. Both main characters, that superficially exist as single entities, bring the reader to question the notion that good cannot exist without evil. The Narrator in Fight club characterizes the ego in the psyche, which mediates the impulsive and sexual self of the id with the social norms of the world. He eventually fails to find a compromise between the two and chooses to identify with the superego. Consequently, unconscious impulses form a discrete entity that is Tyler Durden. The id is manifested in Tyler’s need for primal violence, and high sex drive. He claims that â€Å"self-improvement isn’t the answer, maybe self-destruction is the answer†. Eventually, The Narrator finds himself in the center of â€Å"organized chaos†, and has lost all power over his id. Similarly, Dr. Jekyll represents the ego, dominated by social norms. Jekyll says â€Å"It was on the moral side, †¦, that I learned to recognize the thorough and primitive duality of man†. He has a strenuous time juggling between the requirements of his aggressive instinct and his rational self. Consequently, he gives in to his impulses and decides to separate the two, and bring Mr. Hyde into being. He claims that â€Å"man is not truly one, but truly two.† Mr. Hyde, like Tyler Durden, has no social or moral principles, and seeks â€Å"instant gratification†. By the end, Jekyll, â€Å"represented by the proclaimed and implicit morals of the Victorian society†, loses control of Hyde. The pleasure the alters take in brutality and aggression, ultimately leads to their own destruction by suicide. Aside from the similarities in the personalities and behaviors of the characters, Stevenson and Palahniuk choose many comparable themes and symbolism to help them portray dual personalities in their work, such as the prominent theme of isolation, devolution, as well as the motif of sleep, and the nocturnal city. Fight Club and Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are further linked by the continually prevalent themes of isolation and devolution. The theme of devolution and atavism is reinforced by several factors in both works. Just as humans have the tendency to evolve, they also have the ability to evolve and become more primitive, especially as society forces us to repress such animalistic tendencies. Tyler and Mr. Hyde both return to their primitive and more animalistic state of being as the restrictions placed by society pushes them to their breaking point. This is evident as both characters have a more violent and destructive nature than The Narrator and Dr. Jekyll. Isolatio n is also significant in developing the theme of devolution. The Narrator and Jekyll both live isolated lives, with Jekyll insisting that he wants to lead â€Å"a life of extreme seclusion†. Both characters live their lives devoid of friends or family to communicate with. Jekyll isolates himself from his old friends and spends his days in his lab, while Hyde sneaks in and out of the house. Similarly, The Narrator moves to an abandoned house with no one to communicate with. The theme of isolation helps the alters â€Å"manipulate and absorb the bodies of the main characters for whatever purposes they so desire.† This helps them satisfy their needs for violence and destruction.

Do Women Enjoy Equal Right in Nepal Essay

Our country, Nepal is popularly known as a traditional nation. It gives more priority to its customs and traditions rather than other subjects of matter. This country has been ruled and operated by majority of men since the beginning of humanity. Men play the vital role in each sector of development. History of Nepal is the evidence that all the development works are carried out by majority of men and less women. Even though, there is equal importance of male and female in development of nation, females are kept aside in development as well as social matter. In each and every sector, men play a main role and women are in inferior position. The main cause of such vast differences is the lack of education and public awareness. Such differences start from the early period of males and females life. In point of view of Nepalese people, females are regarded as a curse and males as boon. They do not like bearing female baby as they have to get her married and provide dowry. So, they take it as burden. That’s why, when they bear a boy and a girl, they give higher priority and more love to boy and the girl is kept within the four walls of home. Thus, no matter how talented they are, they never get a chance to develop. The condition of women living in our country is really miserable. Women living in our society are still under the shadow of darkness. They are bounded by the traditional concept of conservative society. They are busy mostly in kitchen and household works. Though, women occupy more population in Nepal, they have less participation in the high level jobs and some other important matters related to their life. They can experience very few legal rights and even our society places them in an inferior position. This was often justified as being the result of biological differences between the sexes. Women were thought to be more emotional and less decisive than men. They are not given sufficient opportunities to improve themselves and are discouraged to go ahead. No matter whatever progress they make, they are still suppressed by this traditional society. Moreover, they are somehow  experiencing basic rights, but they are deprived of social rights in many ways. Furthermore, they are regarded as the symbol of creating, protecting and nursing. They bear and grow-up children. They have many more responsibilities like biological, social and national. But, still their condition in our nation is backward. They are so because of male domination, traditional, social structures, unequal laws, lack of awareness, poverty and lack of government protection for them. Women in our society have been confined only to household chores, rearing children, preparing food, collecting fodder for cattle and family sanitation. Especially, they do not have freedom for movement and for adopting job. They are deprived of higher studies and property rights. They are not encouraged for social exposure. Furthermore, they had been the victim of domestic violence from their husbands, brothers, mother-in-law and even relatives. Their appeal is not uprightly accepted even by the administrator. Sometimes, they are even beaten, kidnapped and killed. Hence, they are really living a sorrowful life. CBS (Central Bureau of Statistics) and the report of UNDP shows that women’s participation in developmental works of Nepal is of low grade. Their rate of involvement in different sectors like education, civil service, participation in teaching and legal practice is very low. Though many NGOs (National Government Organization), INGOs (International Government Organization) and governmental organizations are working for the rights of women, their condition has not been improved significantly. Therefore, in first place, the women themselves must raise voice for their rights. Government, stakeholders, NGOs and INGOs has to take certain measures to uplift the condition of women in every nook and cranny of Nepal. Awareness programs must be conducted in their favor. Rallies with slogans like â€Å"GENDER EQUALITY†, â€Å"EDUCATION FOR ALL†, and etcetera must be spread all over our country. Thus, women must be provided with rights equal to that of men. What Is Love Baby Don’t Hurt Me an Analysis of a Crown of...

Whatt is Love? Baby Don’t Hurt Me An Analysis of A Crown of Sonnets Dedicated to Love A Crown of Sonnets Dedicated to Love is a poem series by Lady Mary Wroth, but this essay will focus only on the first sonnet of the sequence. Wroth had a particular writing style that appears within this poem. This sonnet follows the Shakespearian formula rigidly and uses it quite effectively, though it isn’t just a sonnet. The poem itself addresses love and the many roads it can lead to, and not many of them are truly desirable. Surprisingly, the poem does not use literary elements like alliteration and assonance to make the poem interesting, instead it harnesses repetition and rhyme to compel the readers. The sonnet feels seamless, which can be†¦show more content†¦To the left, her love will be mired by suspicion, whether she will be the one haunted by suspicions or her lover is not stated. Either way, she will not find happiness by going down that path. In the next line, the speaker says that she wishes to go back and that her shame is agreeing with that ide a. Alternatively, her shame could be driving her to return to the point she now finds herself. Finally, the speaker says that standing still and not making a choice is the hardest thing to do because she finds herself mourning the fact that she can’t make a decision. Throughout this part of the poem, Wroth does not use the repetition of sounds to accentuate the poem. Rather, she uses the recurrence of emotions and direction to add weight to the poem. The theme of action and stillness that Wroth utilized in her works is pervasive throughout this poem, because the speaker never did actually move; it was the emphasis on the direction that drove the poem forward. To the right, forward, left, and so on give the reader the impression that the speaker is spinning. Though there isn’t much in the ways of alliteration, assonance and whatnot, there is one particular line that has alliteration in it; â€Å"Thus let me take the right or the left-hand way†¦.† (line 9) The ‘t’ sound is used repeatedly in this line, though whether
